And also much love for [livejournal.com profile] abyssinia4077, who turns 26 today! In honor of this momentous event, [livejournal.com profile] sg_fignewton organized a whole ficlet-a-thon! In record time she got fics from 20+ authors to compile Sam Carter, A to Z. It was great fun; I snagged E and also K. Thanks [livejournal.com profile] sg_fignewton for setting all this up, and again, have a wonderful Birthday Abyssis!

So, I didn't actually do much writing yesterday, but I do have some WIPs I mean to finish, left from my abortive attempts at the [livejournal.com profile] sg1teamficathon. Starting with the one below. I don't usually post WIPs but [livejournal.com profile] sg_fignewton is looking for them and other things to celebrate GenFic day. So, here's what I got:

Forced Perspective (1/?) )
eve11: (sg1_the_gate)
Written for [livejournal.com profile] katie_m for the [livejournal.com profile] sg1teamficathon. Um, this is over a month late, even with the deadline extension. ~5300 words-- and this was the short idea! Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] aurora_novarum for her insights into my less-than-perfect knowledge of Asgard canon, and her cheerleading, and her lovely beta skills. Also thanks to [livejournal.com profile] jenlev and [livejournal.com profile] auntiemeesh for listening to about seven different ideas for this, and for reading through parts of them. There's at least two other WIPs floating around my private lj space. I will get back to them, some day.

Title: An Empirical Study of Entropic Principles in Complex Systems.
Rating: PG
Spoilers: Takes place mid season 7

Request details: "An offworld story with Thor. SG-1 Among the Asgard could be fun, but if you want to go another direction with it that's fine too."

These days, no one expected gods to be invincible. )
eve11: (sg1_constant_peril)
It was going to be a "30-minute break" fic, but I see I've spent over an hour. So now it's back to writing my talk. But yeah, it's the last day for entries to [livejournal.com profile] carnivalofsquee as I was reminded by [livejournal.com profile] surrealphantast on my flist, and I can't resist SG-1 original team-y-ness. So, a brief unbeta'ed thing, set sometime post-Moebius, ~700 words:

Technique )
eve11: (sg1_constant_peril)
Um, I don't write pr0n. Really.

*looks down*

Unless it's crack fic, apparently. So, with tongue firmly in cheek, here you go: Second String, PG-13, het, slash, humor, ~950 words.

It had started out, innocently enough, as an intervention. )
eve11: (sg1_the_gate)
For [livejournal.com profile] katie_m, who requested one year after Mine Eyes Have Seen. This might be cheating a bit, sorry, but here it is. ~1450 words

A Cracked Bell, Ringing )
--------
eve11: (Default)
Because [livejournal.com profile] sg_fignewton and [livejournal.com profile] sulien77 have the cutest icons (done by [livejournal.com profile] littlekfru), and because I'd wanted to do an animated escape icon to them but have no chops for the whole animation thing, so instead, a dialogue excercise (tweaked a bit from the first comment post):

In a Bind )

-------------------
eve11: (Default)
[livejournal.com profile] sg_fignewton requested anything connected with Folsom Prison Blues. Gen, humor, ~350 words, no spoilers: (1/24/07--minor edit)

Proportional Hazards )
--------------------------
eve11: (chance)
because technically it's comment!fic, and it only took me a very short time and is unbeta'ed etc. [livejournal.com profile] _minxy_ said, "Write a ficlet entitled or including the words in the subject of some spam sent to you recently."

~940 words, Humor, SG1, no spoilers, early seasons (1-4ish). With a few teensy touch-ups from original comment on minx's lj.

The Small Stuff )

Title: Folsom Prison Blues
Author: Eve11
Rating: G
Summary: A fiery death was so not on his agenda for today.

Notes: ~2700 words written in latecoming backup for our last unfulfilled requestor, [livejournal.com profile] poohmusings, who wanted banter/snark, team offworld on a mission, any season except nine, and didn't want Unases, Pete bashing, or the team meeting AU versions of themselves. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] auntiemeesh for the beta. This one's set sometime in season 4. No spoilers.

eta: oops, meant to post to the [livejournal.com profile] sg1teamficathon. Can't figure out how to re-post to that community so I'll just cross-post...

Folsom Prison Blues )

(And now with a tag! Proportional Hazards)
eve11: (Default)
There's a spate of Stargate apocafic rolling around lj, so I thought I'd throw mine in with the mix. Short, dark, takes place probably toward the end of season 7.
