As anticipated

The only thing I managed to get done this weekend was the bodice. But aside from needing to let a few extra buttons dry in order to get the top, it's all done and sewed.



I think it looks pretty good. I had to change the bustline again, took a bit in off the top, but oh well, it's not like it is accurate for Nefertiti's onscreen plunging bust line. I think her front panel thing is longer. But yeah, that was a lot of button sewing, and I am glad it is mostly done.


Tabled for tomorrow... wtf how do I make the skirt? I am thinking some strategically placed gathers at the waist and maybe double the fabric and crease it so I don't have to worry about a hem. Also I might make the front foldy pieces separately and just attach them at the end? Whatever the solution, I'm going to need a real skirt or something under it, as the fabric is completely see through.

Thanks! I am very glad to have it done. And that I decided to tackle the buttons this weekend because they took a bit longer to do than I'd anticipated.

Thanks! I think that was the most time-consuming thing left to do. At least I don't think the necklace will take that long. I hope not.

Thanks! I think I'm going to just set the dress form to the right height and proportion for the skirt and build it that way instead of trying to use a pattern. It should be a pretty simple wraparound but I've got to figure out how to make the hemline straight while including some give for my hips. Plus do the front design. I'm hopefully going to get that done tonight. Or at least started and all-but-edged.
