Do you ever have weird flashes of thought back to TV shows or some such that you are pretty sure you did not make up, but that are nonetheless difficult to explain without sounding like you were on serious drugs as a small child? Isn't it amazing what YouTube can answer for you? Ah, Sesame Street in the late 70s and early 80s. For some reason, this evening I got the Teeny Little Super Guy theme song (that probably has not crossed my mind in about 28 to 30 years) repeating in my head. And I remembered very little about it except that I really loved those skits when they came on Sesame Street. This is something that I would do as a kid without thought: turn things like cups or eggbeaters or spoons or whatever, into people, and then play with them as though they were people. I mean, why the hell not?

ETA: Oh, and the predecessor to all those Pythagoreas Switch (pitagora suicci) videos. Love the carnival music. And the less fortunate ending for the Red Ball too.

Dude. Sesame Street was amazing then. Not so amazing now *meh* but it kills me the stuffs we used to play with when we were kids!!

But on the flipside, I have a kiddo that can 'build' Serenity (from Firefly) with one glance at the ship, build the 'pilot area' of that ship (and operate it, too) and has been doing that with legos for the TARDIS, TARDIS console and misc for the last three years...

Wish I coulda done that as a kid. You are one up on me with the spoons and cups, lol!!

*HUGS*

Oh man, flashbacks of TV shows, I know them well. For years I was pretty sure I had made up this one show and I could only describe it as "uhh there was this girl and there were koalas outside her window and they took her to a different dimension??" and that sounded so outlandish but then one of my friends told me he remembered it too, it was called Noozles (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noozles) and I wasn't completely crazy.

And ahaha I remember those Sesame Street bits too, I guess they kept them on through the mid-80s...they didn't seem so trippy back then...

I don't know about sounding like I was on drugs, but there is 1 movie and 1 story that I remember but don't know what they were called and haven't seen them in a long time. It's really kind of maddening to wonder if something was real or your imagination from childhood.

That has got to be one of the strangest skits that I've ever, ever seen O_O But that might've been that I didn't grow up with Sesame Street at all.

But I can completely understand the feeling of having a hard time explaining something like that and getting utterly confused looks, though.
