Having a convo with
jjpor over on his DW account regarding the suspension: he says "I have absolutely no idea why. I received no warning beforehand or notification afterwards. I have raised queries with the LJ Abuse team to find out what the hell's going on. Is it election time in Russia again or something?"
Also:
I am informed that I am not the only one - still trying to find out who the others were and what the connection could be. If you could just let everybody over on LJ know what the score is, that would be great.
And regarding
who_at_50:
If I can't get the suspensions lifted, DW is going to have to become the main base for who_at_50 - the only problem is that the traffic on the comm over here seems to be much, much less than over there so I don't know if anybody will even bother with it if it's no longer on LJ. It's a bit dispiriting, to be honest.
Does anyone else know of any other journals that have gotten suspended? I'll check my list of friends. And hey, if you LJ-ers want to war with DW and OpenID, check in over at the Dreamwidth mirror and let him know we'll still be around.
I hope it is just a misunderstanding that will be resolved soon.
ETA: And his journal's back up! So that's a good sign :D
EATA: Seems it's a screw-up due to false positives from anti-spam mitigation techniques. I am so not surprised...

Date: 2013-05-03 11:53 pm (UTC)The comm still seems to be down for now, but I've sent another request on the back of the previous one, so fingers crossed.
And yeah - there has been an awful lot of spam lately, but I've also noticed that they've been flagging up any comment with a url in it as spam as well, so obviously a bit of a blunt instrument approach. To be expected, I think. Gawd knows why I still prefer the place to Dreamwidth. Must be the company. :)

Date: 2013-05-04 02:17 am (UTC)Yeah, I was wondering why mmom (the May Masturbate-a-thon fic challenge) was down. It has to be false positive reasons, because although the fic can get explicit there, I didn't see a lot of it violating LJ's TOS.
Meanwhile, I'm also seeing a lot of random spam posts in het_reccers, and it's driving me nuts.
