Hide and seek.

Emma looks like Sarah Jane (ETA: I should say, the way she's dressed reminded me immediately of Pertwee-era Sarah Jane). I could tell it looked like seventies. Yay, historicals!

Oh, she has the umbrella again.

OMG WTF WAS THAT THING IN THE CORNER???? Holy shit, okay, that was properly scary.

Aw, a professor and companion (sorry, assistant) who have text and not just subtext. Aw, I do like this.

The TARDIS doesn't like Clara.

ooohm History tour!!!!! I love it. OMG I love it! "Have we just watched the entire life cycle of Earth, birth to death?"

"So I am a ghost?" Oh, break my heart.

A BLUE CRYSTAL FROM METABILIS 3!

Oh dear, left behind. Oh, oh dear. And he just said it too. And the cloister bell is ringing.

If Emma dies I will be SO PISSED OFF.

OMG everybody lives, everybody lives and there are love stories told in fifteen seconds of exposition and I don't even care and holy fucking shit that monster was both freaking scary and also lovesick and lost. Poor guy.

And more mystery. The TARDIS, boy she doesn't like Clara.

Edited to add: That was definitely my favorite of the series so far. A bit of clunkiness on the whole "developing picture of the Doctor" but made up for by the pictures taken across the history of Earth. It used its settings really well, had scary monsters and Time travel and peril and psychics and good OCs and a pioneer who needed to be rescued. It was everything you could ask for and it juggled it all remarkably well.

I just happened to think of something. If Clara keeps popping up at different points in time, maybe the TARDIS just finds her wrong. She hated Jack after Rose made him all immortal so it could be just that.

Or she could just not like her. I don't know why I am thoroughly amused by this relationship.

After all of the companions having a special link with the TARDIS for awhile it's actually kind of hilarious to have them not get on At All. Kind of reminds me of the TARDIS and Charlie snipping at each other in the audios.

Metebilis III ! I stopped and rewound and listened and squeed and giggled for a solid ten minutes. The Old Skool references are coming thick and heavy this series and I love it to pieces.

The giant carboniferous dragonfly and "You are the only mysteries worth solving" and oh -

It didn't make a lick of sense, but I love it to pieces too. (I feel like something was edited out at the beginning though. The pacing was just... odd)

I wondered about that, too. According to the interwebs - it is either a reference to the town or a reference to Thomas Carlyle 1795-1881 who apparently focused a lot on human observations and observations of ignorance.

I'm not sure how ignorance is bliss vs ignorance is carlyle are opposites....or whatever.

I really liked this episode, too! That monster was creeptastic at first!!!

I think the implication was that Carlyle (probably the town) is the exact opposite of bliss. I mean, imagine the dialogue went like so:

Doctor: Ignorance isn't bliss. Ignorance is—what's the exact opposite of bliss?
Clara: New Jersey?

Same joke, just with more England in.

That was proper Doctor Who in my opinion. Even the ghost was proper Doctor Who:-) Funny, scary and all the rest. (And thank goodness because the past two weeks have made me grumpy). I clap my hands for joy at this one.

OMG THAT THING WAS CREEPY AS HELL. Like, seriously that shape and the fact that it was crawling and gah. Proper ghost story.

I feel like the TARDIS not liking Clara is supposed to be a sort of plot point, since it's the second time it's been mentioned- except it seems to be more of a irritable dislike as opposed to the more violent reaction it had to Jack?

Clara's bit to Eleven was basically the most heartbreaking thing ever because ahh, it totally hits everything.

I found it odd that the Bell was ringing, although I suppose the Doctor being trapped in a pocket universe that's collapsing would count as life threatening danger.

Hahaha, I mean, it's probably hard to communicate that you're just looking for a way back to your Juliet when you can't talk and look as the monster did.

Agreed, though- the clunky bit with the pictures felt a little out of place in the narrative, but it still did a really good job with it.

I wonder if she is flat out afraid of Clara - but gave in because 'OMG, my THIEF IS IN TROUBLE AND I MISS HIM NAO!!'

I love how they talk back and forth. So GRUMPY the two of them, lol!!

Definitely a stellar eppie - I cannae Brain for all the Feels!!

Right? Amy and Rory died and he's wearing that old spacesuit he's had around since he was hanging out with Rose and Clara asks him if they're all just ghosts I WILL JUST GO BE SAD IN A CORNER BRB.

If Emma dies I will be SO PISSED OFF.
I was afraid that the time traveling lady was going to die and I was going to have to be angry. But then no one died, success! Not even the weird gingerroot-looking alien! :P
