I should be more fannish these days

eve11I actually feel like I've been doing a lot of fannish things lately, but they haven't really showed up much on LJ or elsewhere online. Still haven't written up a Chicago TARDIS post; I have to move my pictures over to my computer. I think I got myself unstuck on the WIP-o-Doom, which is good. But I am writing up this random post instead of writing the scene that unfolded in my head. So, yay procrastination. I will be so glad when this WIP is done. Gladder than finishing my dissertation, I swear!
Anyhow, it seems like the newest round of LJ's changes has driven people away in droves; or like in the past 6 to 8 months I've just seen a pretty steep decline in activity over here. I might end up having to move over to dreamwidth at some point, but I have like 9 years of entries on lj here that I would have to move over, which is kind of daunting. I was kind of scared of transferring all my pictures over, until LJ went and eff-ed with Scrapbook and messed up all the orders in my galleries anyway.
I had thrown out the idea a while back to maybe start a friending meme for those of us Whovians who are still stubbornly on lj. Would anyone be interested? Any idea how to go about doing that? I don't really have a very big footprint on lj, not particularly a BNF or a mod of anything or whatnot. Has anyone done a friending meme before?
