Christmas special spoilers

ETA: And the Official BBC Press Release
*sighs* I'm not very excited about these prospects. Doesn't really sound like my cuppa. I suppose Moffat could have something up his sleeve to make it work but I'm less enthusiastic about the whole "christmassy" aspect of a Christmas episode. Unless it has some good crazy-alien reason for eg, the Doctor being visited by three ghosts or whatever, or unless it's a real re-imagining of the original with a good twist and a mystery of some sort, I'm not holding my breath. I suppose I just have to hope it isn't cringe-worthy. :(

Date: 2010-07-12 02:22 pm (UTC)Aha! I know! The guest stars are just a ploy to distract from the real guests- Paul McGann battered and tattered fresh from the Time War as ghost of christmas past, whatisface who played the Dream Lord for present, and ... I dunno for future.

Date: 2010-07-12 02:59 pm (UTC)Christmas episodes I don't mind if they're done well (The Christmas Invasion was hilarious) but I'm really tired of remakes of A Christmas Carol. Hmmm.....

Date: 2010-07-12 05:12 pm (UTC)Yeah, whats up with that? I thought the line about the Egyptian goddess was supposed to have been a last minute plot vital addition. Hmmph.
I do love multi-Doctor stories. But mostly, I just want Paul McGann back onscreen. :D

Date: 2010-07-12 03:43 pm (UTC)But I do like the idea of Michael Gambon, for some reason. Is he Santa? 'Cause we all know that Dumbledore's Santa anyway.
Father Who is a terrible title, though. I really hope they don't go with it.
'Course, now I'm hoping that Eleven will mention how he met Dickens one Christmas... But I kind of expect he won't. :(
