Nor hockey? And I'm talking about it? Why yes, it's Burn Notice.

We're watching season 2 on DVD, and I'm noticing a trend not unlike the trend that squicks me a bit with Pretender, which is the whole "Well he/she is a bad guy, so it's okay if Michael and company scam them into getting killed by a bigger bad guy." Arg! Stop it, show! Please? I'm really enjoying the rest of it, but this form of "they had it coming" justice really really rubs me the wrong way. I really don't like to see any person (goodie or baddie) in the situation wherein they are imminently about to get killed. I mean, okay, self-defense is one thing, in a fight or immediate kill-or-be-killed, but these are like, bad guy gets set up and then Mike and Co. let the bigger bads clean up the mess.

I didn't quite notice so much of that last season. It's like they're upping the ante or something. Anyway, yeah, bad guys are people too, and I don't really subscribe to the eye for an eye thing.

In other news, hey we got to the ones with Number Six and Daniel Jackson! Woot! (Also I liked the one with Lucy Lawless; she was a Cylon too, wasn't she? It's a Vancouver sci-fi actor party; those are the best! didn't realize they made it that far south, though...)

in the real world, since Michael has a handler, he's a NOC [non-official cover], thus, the actual in the field "spook" guy.

the majority of agents, ie: CIA, NSA, etc, aren't field personnel in the strictest sense, so, you know, the warnings are probably not too far off. ;)
