He's hilarious. Also, he seems to be about 12. "I'll have another mini egg." I'm still not completely convinced he'll be a good Doctor, but he seems to be a bit adorable in real life.
So the call went out today on Prydon Academy for people who might be interested in doing black and white costumes of characters from the first two Doctors at DragonCon this year. So far we have a Barbara & Ian. Any chance you and Auntiemeesh might want to join us? And/or can y'all maybe pass on some tips - what kind of makeup and application and such? Thanks!
ooh, that sounds like fun! auntiemeesh won't be joining us this year at D*C (I know, it's a travesty! But it's a blackout date for her work and she only can get it every other year). I could probably be some version of a b&w companion-- though all the girls of that era were pretty darn young.
We used Mehron "Blithe Spirit" gray for our B&W makeup. Also, for darker shades, i had some "Monster Gray". Meeshie had a whole heck of a lot of skin to cover, which i attempted using my cheap traveling airbrush. it was still hard to do. we ended up using sponges. If you're going with a regular outfit try to find several different shades of gray to imitate colors, or maybe a pattern. Also, contact lenses probably aren't necessary if you have any shade of blue/green/hazel eyes. they will look gray when surrounded by gray.
Edited to add: also make sure you get something like polyset to mix with the body paint, that will help it stay water-resistant.
lol, you know I did a lot of research on 50's and 60's hair for the BodySnatchers outfits. I might be able to do Barbara's hair sans wig if I start practicing. I'd have to look at some more pictures, but I might be able to use some of the b&w stuff I already have for her outfit too. But I think I would need platform shoes or some seriously high high heels. I feel too short to attempt Barbara!

Actually, her hair would be a lot easier. How 'bout you take over Barbara, and I'll be SK. :P
