Someone in the UK has to get me one of these!

See, the thing is, aside from the Sybiline sisterhood, the other thing I wanted to do for D*C is the TARDIS. I want to do a version that I can make appear and disappear very easily, like, you know, a pop-up umbrella or something. Oh, it would be FAB to have the TARDIS print done already, and I did the measurements and that one's just about the right size...

Anyone know how I can get one of these to the US? If a kind Brit on my flist would take a paypal from me for the cost and the overseas shipping cost (and compensation too for the time taken to go to the post office and ship it out to me), I would totally do that. ETA: Oh, it looks like I might be able to get one shipped direct from a different seller! EATA: looks like they only ship books and DVDs across the pond :( Back to appealing to the Brit masses! EYATA: gromit77 found me a link to some folks who ship to the US! Hooray! And omg, I'm a huge nerd. But Hooray, for I will soon (in the next two weeks or so) have a fabric TARDIS! :)

see, these are the things I spend money on. Clothes? No. Jewelry? no. Shoes? Definitely no! Pop-up zipperobe TARDIS? HELL YEAH!

You know, there is one way to do it where we could put it on casters and then have a kind of window-blind-like way of just extending and detracting the fabric. That way we wouldn't have to worry about weight.

ETA: oh, on the site it says that the product and box (for shipping) weigh in at 6 Kilos == 13 pounds. Totally do-able. hee!

I've ordered things from Amazon.uk before, I've never had any issues with them shipping from overseas.

What did you buy? The marketplace thing said they ship books, DVDs, videos and that kind of thing. Anything bigger-- toys, games etc?

I've only bought books, but I don't know why there would be problems for (I don't know what to call it, clothing? props? toys?). I wouldn't think that the problem would be size so much as it would anything that would be questionable for customs. It sure wouldn't hurt to give it a try.

I can't imagine that this thing would be any bigger, or weigh more when packaged that the 5 hardbacks I ordered.

I'd call it either a toy, or an accessory or something like that-- and according to their policies they only ship those kinds of things to certain countries (none of which is the US). Looks like they're only willing to ship books, CDs and DVDs overseas-- doesn't seem to be a weight thing, more of an item thing. Dunno why :(
