Stargate Audio Adventures!

So, Big Finish, who of late has led me to all sorts of Doctor Who Audio Adventure fandom squee-ing, is set to release six audio-books for Stargates SG-1 and Atlantis, with the first one slated for April, and available for download from their site at that time too. It sounds like it's going to be a cross between a full-blown audio adventure and a simple narration or reading of a book-- maybe comparable to one of the Companion Chronicles like Mother Russia, which I enjoyed a lot despite not having any experience with any of the characters.

Anyway, I hadn't realized they were going to be coming out so soon. And eeee, they've got one lined up with Claudia Black in it too :) Yay!

Wait, I'm confused; are these new stories, commissioned for the audiobooks, or merely recordings of already-released novels?

New stories specifically tailored for audio books. And Big Finish has had 8 or nine years now to work the kinks out of these kinds of productions; if their Whoniverse stuff is any indicator, they have the potential to tell some really good stories.

There's a three-minute snippet available... somewhere of a three-minute excerpt with MS and another reader. Most intriguing story blurb, but what made me laugh out loud was hearing "Daniel" pronounce "Goa'uld" correctly. :)
