OMG, that was pure fucking WIN! Absolutely hilarious-- and jeez, poor Sam! I love how he sulked-- "I lost my shoe": he was like a giant eight-year-old. And Dean with the rabbit's foot was just the pinnacle of cool. "There's something you don't know about me: today's my lucky day." Love it!

Oh, I also love creepy Christian Hunter guy. "Don't play with my Jesus."

Great mix of a solid story and a lot of humor. Off to watch more now...

ETA: OMG GENERAL HAMMOND IS EVIL! (or maybe not evil but definitely suspicious!)
EATA: I really wish they wouldn't pull their punches! They should totally have waited to reveal Priest the bad guy until they made it to the basement. Tension, guys! Mystery, suspense! Sheesh.

EYATA: Dude, that Christmas special was awesome! But now I am out of episodes to watch :(

I freakin' LOVED that episode. (My icon proves it!) I also loved Jesus!Hunter. Bela I could live without, but whatever. And Sam was a complete and utter 8 year old. It was awesome. *g*

He does rock mightily. And I just got done watching the Christmas special... omfg that was made of win. Taking a page out of Mayor Wilkins' book, but I loved the old pagan gods.

It was just the whole sulk... I was cracking up. I had my laptop on my lap watching, and my VLC player skips up when my computer moves... I had to rewatch those scenes a few times because I kept laughing and jarring the laptop.

I think my fave ep of the season was the Black Rock episode. Jared P. does comedy well, doesn't he? They should let him do it more often. I was grinning like an idiot throughout the whole episode.

Not sure I really quite got weird Christian hunter, but he was different. I just loved that episode so much.

But I've been loving S3 anyway. It's been so fun and ansgty. I'm bummed the season is abbreviated due to the writer's strike :(

But what do you mean, abbreviated? Are they accelerating the arc, or treating the mid-season episodes like a finale, or skipping a bunch of eps, or what?

As far as I can gather, they only have twelve completely written episodes, so if the strike doesn't end pretty damn soon, there's not going to be much more to this season than that. Thus the fact that they've only aired eight episodes so far. Rationing sucks, but it's better than not having anything to look forward to, I suppose.

Oh man! Well I hope that the strike ends soon :( Is it in danger of being canceled? I read someone's journal who said that the strike was putting the entire show in jeopardy. That would suck: I want more show!

I really hope it doesn't get cancelled because that would just suck big time. From what I can gather, it's been in danger of being cancelled at the end of every season - apparently CW doesn't promote it very well. :(

I'm terrified it will get cancelled. They haven't done any real promoting since it first started, and that irks me. it really is a great show. So atmospheric.

Well, I just sent an email to CW raving about the show (feedback@CWTV.com). Perhaps I will write a genuine letter, too. They make a bigger impact on network execs. 1 letter = 1000 viewers and all that. :) I would really hate to see the show canceled!

I don't know what is going to happen, actually. I know they had 12 or 13 eps written prior ro the strike. That's basically a half season. So I don't know if they just stopped or if they wrapped up early or cut some ideas out.

I'm just grumpy the strike is taking so long. I'm with the writers on this one, but I wish they'd hurry up and settle. This season's arc is too good to mess with!

Bad Day at Black Rock and the Christmas episodes are my two favorites, I think. 'I lost my shoe' just absolutely killed me, with his sad little face.

That's one thing this show tends to suck a little at. They sometimes give things away long before they should.

I really liked Fresh Blood, too. I had gotten pretty tired of Gordon, but the idea to turn him fit so perfectly with his story, and the fact that he didn't really change, just got more ruthless in his quest, was cool, I thought.

Hm, I'm thinking today might be a really good day for a season three marathon. :)

I liked Fresh Blood, except I think Gordon would have won that fight, hands down. Also, the version I procured had French subtitles. Still, it was a good episode. Very "Silence of the Lambs" at the end, with Sam having to inch his way around in the dark. *shudders*

I've liked all of the episodes so far. I thought the changeling one was creepy and good, plus the kid was a riot. "Are you sure he's not mine?" I thought the Ohio town one was kind of so-so but it was a good character piece for both Sam and Dean. I like Dean's arc-- he's taking the whole "soul-going-to-hell" thing just as I'd imagined. The fairy tale ep was a cool idea, and I liked that the Dad didn't just write off Sam-- he actually believed him.

The mythology is pretty cool this time around, too. I'm interested in knowing what Ruby's angle is, that's for sure. And when hundreds of demons descend upon the earth, it's nice to have a gun that can kill them.

Hey, so did you catch Mercedes McNab in Fresh Blood? She was that first vampire they captured, that thought she was just high.

My guess is, Ruby wants Sam to fulfill the role the YED had for him, take over the demon army and ride at their head to the apocolypse, and she plans to use saving Dean as her carrot. I'm sure it's not out of loyalty to a dead friend or anything like that, probably just her way of seizing control in a time of chaos.

I thought that was her! But dude, this show has marched so many tiny, long-haired, pert yet moody-faced blondes at me I just got confused. I thought she was Jo at first. And then I thought she was Ruby, but hey, I thought Ruby was Jo to begin with too...

They all look alike to me...

They do go a little heavy on the perky blondes in this show. I'm wondering if the casting director has a fetish or something. The only ep where I really had trouble was The Magnificent Seven - first there was the blonde in the store that went postal over the shoes, then there was Ruby, then there was the blonde Lust demon, and I think there might have been a random blonde outside the store at one point too, that looked interchangable with all the others.

As for Mercedes McNab, I had to laugh at her line about the vampire - 'He's old, maybe thirty.' She's something like 27 herself, so it was kind of pushing it, I thought, to have her do that sort of teenage thing.
