Revolution of the Daleks

In a word, underwhelming.
In more words, I just am not feeling it at all. Chibnall seems to need more characters in order to be plot devices. And it's just all "tell" all the time. And I feel like I've seen this episode before. Because I have.
The part I was interested in--the Doctor imprisoned, trying to hold on for decades--was glossed over without much fanfare and then just inserted us into this other storyline. The scene with Yaz in the extra TARDIS was good. The Daleks blowing each other up was good, and the "lure them into the other TARDIS" bit was clever. There were a couple of good lines. The rest of it... the amount that Chibnall uses the TARDIS as a plot device is ridiculous. Quick, everyone in, let's go here and reveal this part of the mystery, let's go there and reveal another part. It doesn't matter who is standing there being explained to, it really doesn't. Everyone is interchangeable.
Daleks taking over people, again. Daleks, for some reason, doing Bond-villain-esque levels of "explaining the plan". Over-caricatured bad guys. And the scenes that were supposed to be the meat of the feelings suffered from just really poor writing. "It's gonna be fine." "Will it really be fine?" "Of course it will be fine."
It's still just paint by numbers. OH, and at the end when maybe we think we will get time to actually explore two characters and have time to build a relationship instead of just telling us that the relationship exists and expecting us to follow along... wrong. We are going to get another new companion out of the blue. Because Chibnall doesn't know what to do with Yaz other than have her be clever. And doesn't know how to give this Doctor depth at all. And needs more characters to have some variety in who gets explained to in order to move the plot. And God forbid you have a show with two female leads and nary a white man in sight. That can't be good for ratings.
*sigh*. I miss my show.

Idk, I feel like I've gave Chinball the benefit of the doubt but he's coming up pretty short so far.
