So that was a fabulous feint, wasn't it? Because here I'd heard all the hoopla and watched a trailer and it said it would be a one-off for the new year. So I figured I'd watch it even though I wasn't caught up. And then it wasn't quiiiiite a one-off. I mean I wasn't super spoiled but I've not watched series 3 yet. So I kinda closed my eyes and hummed when they showed the spate of spoilers at the beginning and then watched happily until he ended up on a jet. And then watched to the end but slightly mystified.

It was quite good though. But I should probably watch series 3 at some point so I know what the heck is going on.

ETA: Maybe I've seen the first episode of season 3. But I don't remember much about it. Perhaps I should just find all of these episodes and watch them all at once.

They're on Netflix. My tv is always available for a viewing party if you want to come down one day.

I really want to watch this one again. I'll have to remember to try to grab it on the 10th.

I don't have Netflix, just Amazon Prime. I guess I could rectify that but it would lead either to watching more TV, or wasting whatever I spent on it.

And it was a bit tricky, wasn't it? I can't remember if they ever actually said it was going to be a one-off, but certainly setting it in the Victorian Era gave the impression that it wasn't going to be related to what was going on in modern times. That being said, I really enjoyed it.

The interview I read intimated that it was at least going to be just one episode and not the start of the season, and that because of that, they decided they would use that opportunity to do a victorian setting. So I was quite ready for it to be more along the lines of the cheeky post-modern Robert Downey Junior movies. I was not prepared for the jet, nor for the mind palace. And I thought it was very cool, but I was also like "Oh crap, I have only seen one episode of season 3!" I think it was season 3. Did we watch it together? The one where he poses as the waiter when Watson thinks he's dead. I forget the actual mystery in that one or might be confounding it with one of the Sherlock movies. I should really watch the whole series from the very beginning again.
