I really thought Jenna did amazing in Dark Water, too. Clara's grief was really believable, relatable and gripping. Loved Missy, too—and I did get caught into shipping her with Twelve :D
"Americans, I don't want Americans around; they'd probably just pray." I'd missed that line! I missed so much, I had to reread all of Missy's lines just to make extra sure I hadn't missed out on any of her delightful bitchiness. The French got a mention too, but as an excuse to mock the Belgian XD Time Lords are such bigots when it comes to Earth, seriously! Is it the Scottishness talking? XD
I hadn't noticed Missy's Scottish accent at all before, either! I'd actually learned about that in a Michelle Gomez interview before watching Death in Heaven, though, so I paid attention. Maggie Smith/McGonagall, indeed, there might have been one such vibe.
I think that the Master isn't really dead, more just uploaded back to the nether sphere. I bet she had a backup bracelet. And it's not just because I really really want to see Michelle Gomez back because she was excellent at malevolent bananas. Moffat said something in an interview that gives me a lot of hope, about how Delgado's Master always seemed to wind up dead, then magically return in the next episode being like "I escaped!", and he thought it was pretty neat and fun and something he might like to try. Bit easy too, but if it brings back Missy I will die of happiness and not once think of complaining. XD Michelle Gomez also presumably hinted, but I'm not sure how much of that was just about what she wished would happen, and I'm wary about Internet rumours and people interpreting things the way they want them to sound like.
When in forest of the night Clara said Danny would never leave before the kids were safe... and then at the end of the series he saves the boy he killed instead of himself. Promises. Oh, that is so right!
That end scene with Clara waking up was a strange scene that shouldn't have worked, mainly because that was the first we even heard about the bracelet being able to move people back and forth; seems like there was a cut exposition scene somewhere. Indeed…
It's one thing to think of "if I could do it again" or "if I could trade my life for theirs" scenarios but another to truly be presented with that second chance and to make good on it. *nods* Yes.
The last scene with both the Doctor and Clara lying about found happiness... That was typical of their relationship this season… and quite moving.
This may be some crazy speculation and a rather "adult" thing to approach in the series but I think Clara might possibly be pregnant? I wondered that and saw other people wonder it too. I wouldn't believe it but for the very strange Dark Water opening scene. What did Clara want to tell Danny so badly? We never get told that. And it seems very important. So idk… We already had a pregnancy with Amy, so I don't know how I would feel about this. We'll see.
