Ooooh I liked that. I missed the first 5 minutes so was a little bit lost but yes, yes, I liked that A LOT. Also I have a feeling [livejournal.com profile] a_phoenixdragon is going to be beside herself with the feels on this one, because WAR INSIDE THE DOCTOR'S HEAD. AND IT IS A CHESS GAME! Also thought Matt Smith did a great job. Also, cyber-mites. And scary cybermen.

Ahem. Yes, well. Bring on the finale!

I had a similar thought. :P

The cybermites look like silverfish! And yes, the cybermen were scary. I liked how the upgrades and the chess made them seem more computer-science-y.

I liked the guest cast a lot. Especially Alice Ferry and her platoon. And surprise!emperor!Porridge.

Neil Gaiman's brain is a good brain.

I liked it, too! Especially the cybermites - and that one left bleeping in space after the planet exploded...dun dun dun.

I thought Matt Smith did the dual "personalities" quite well, although I had to rewind a few times to figure out at which point he was the Doctor versus CyberMind or whatever you want to call it. I did notice that in most cases, the different "personalities" were emphasized with different camera angles -- camera facing "cyberface" with the CyberMind and facing Doctor-face when just the Doctor.

Did you see the ~3 minute prequel to next week's episode? It's on youtube (link-hopefully still active...and hopefully I hyperlinked properly-lookslikeitbutwhoknows...)...

I feel like I've been waiting for this chess game since I saw Curse of Fenric and it was brilliant. *flails* (This is an odd thing to flail about, yes.)

LOL!! I'm still sorting out my Feelings on this one. You know, it's sad that I had that RIGHT THERE and missed it? I mean, I adored the chess game and squealed over the fight inside his head, but I didn't really think on it beyond that point -

Which just goes to show how tired I was during the eppie and why my Feelings are still sorting. This may call for a rewatch. *Nods* Such a hardship you know!

LOL!! Seriously - wonder how many people thought 'What Mandy does think?' while watching! Moffat and Co keep catering to my Feels *draws hearts everywhere* this is the second eppie this season that drew that kind of reaction from a friend of mine, lol!! Though honestly - this is the first time I was so zoned out I missed all the connections *headdesk*

*HUGS*

Marvelous eppie. Need to double-check Feel meter. Rewatch imminent.

... I wasn't that impressed actually. (Although, given that they apparently cut scenes with the soldiers I might well have a soilder-thing in motion... soon)

Dude, I referenced Fenric (my friend and her father blank-faced at me but the mum got it *score*)

I really liked how they had managed to make the Cyberman actually able to upgrade, since it really gave them a lot more capacity as villains since they had kind of hit a wall with them.

Matt Smith seriously did an amazing job that ep and was kind of the star, I think, since he's such a good physical actor.

All different sorts of amazing. I was mildly amused by the "Silver Turk" thing with the Cyberman and Porridge at the beginning. Then it was suddenly all War In The Doctor's Mind, and I was thinking,

"If they manage to pull this off it will be brilliant, but if they fail it will be the stupidest thing ever"

It was brilliant.

As a side note, I didn't realize that Neil Gaiman had written this episode until after I'd finished watching it and forming my opinions (basically, that was awesome, when do I have time for a rewatch? MUST REWATCH!) so I got to like the episode on its own terms with no expectations going in based on the writer.
