Well, I shall hang on a bit and see how I feel before the deadline closes. It's a bit weird - it's not that I don't think I could do it, but that because I do so little else still, when my main constructive thing is something I can't share with everyone for weeks, I go gradually more sort of depressed/morbid/introverted. I want to try again, but... not quite so soon, and hopefully with a slightly shorter writing period.

Also, it's dawning on me how long it is since I've seriously watched any DW. It's quite scary. I mean, aside from the new stuff when it's on, once I could.

But maybe in another couple of weeks, I'll feel less wary about it - I do seem to be coming along quite a bit. But I just don't want the restrictions of a ficathon again for another few months. Although, it makes me sad, because Six! sixathon! I have been waiting and waiting for its return! :-/

Still, it is awesome that it has and that there will be more Six fic anyway.

This makes perfect sense to me. My main constructive thing has been languishing in a back thread on a kink meme since January 2011. And I'm sure most of my flist is like, "Stop whinging about it and just POST IT ALREADY" and by now I'm feeling like it has to be a perfect magnum opus (and fully complete) before I officially post it.

I did try to reach a good balance for the writing period, but I do want to give enough time to people who need to contemplate things a bit more. infiniteviking was thinking maybe we could have an early bird submission deadline only a month or a few weeks out. I don't know though; I don't want it to get too fragmented, but then again, ficathons to me are all about the stories and not so much the trappings.

For the next flash fiction challenge (Which should be starting up pretty soon; I need to poke phoenix dragon), I'm going to make it a 2-week thing.

Oh, I don't think there's anything wrong with the writing length - it's about usual, I'd say. I just get a little weird because of what's going on, and I don't have many rl activities to balance out the fannish as yet. But soon! Soon! :-)

And, as I said, I'm going to leave it and decide nearer to the deadline; I may just be tired and getting things out of proportion. I am thrilled it's happening agin though - whatever I decide, there will be some lovely new Six fic, so it can't be bad, can it?

And on the positive side, I'm beginning to feel as I could write more, or even go back to some pre-illness WIPs. I haven't tried yet, but that's there - and I'm sort of tempted in that direction too. (BUt that may be me getting over-ambitious, so... two weeks! v Then I decide!)

And, aw, good luck with your WIP o' Doom! And you've got to post it the way you need to, really. Writing is like that. We're all v quirky! :lol:

I was thinking, if you feel up to trying something else that (perhaps weirdly) I consider fun; I know you were interested in the fandom data analysis I was doing, which I do all using R: this online R tutorial is actually pretty fun and informative. It's about pirates!
