Finally got in the Valentine's Day spirit; it took until like 6:45 this evening. I made bacon-wrapped filets with fettucine and (from a jar) alfredo sauce, with sauteed asparagus and red pepper. Then, as I've been jonesing for MST3K and D was not successful in locating the Movie (no, we don't have streaming netflix), we hooked up the old VCR and put in "Hercules and the Captive Women" which was originally recorded in September 1992.
You can watch it here*. But you might miss out on the commercials. Penn Jillete's Comedy Central voiceovers. Bobcat Golthwaite and Judy Tenuda doing blurbs for "Comics Only". Brian Regan with a mullet and outlandish purple button-down shirt. Ellen DeGeneres and her mom! ("I can do all your acts"). This psychedelic Jolly Rancher commercial. Billy Crystal touting "Mr. Saturday Night." SALLY STRUTHERS AND THE ICS (You can major in Business management OR accounting!). And a frustrated caller on a payphone, with AT&T asking all of us, "When was the last time you worried about long distance? There's never been a better time to come back to AT&T".
D says, the correct way to rewind the tape is to fast forward it to the end and let it rewind all the way. That way, it is spooled correctly.
We have a bunch of these (
kalypso_01 I think you picked them up from somewhere, right?). Most of what we have on tape is either MST3K, or my sporadic recordings of Farscape or Stargate SG-1 from Sci-Fi Fridays. Yeah.
I think we're gonna watch "The Screaming Skull" next.
*"Today is dedicated to Uranus."
"Why, thank you! Can I keep my thong on?"
