lordshiva which means (a) it's already awesome and (b) it has zero chance of being not awesome in all its future parts. Check out Gene Expression in Amber (link goes to part 4 but it has links back to the original parts), which is a really cool re-imagining of the "damsel-in-distress" kind of victorian storyline a la "the Copper Beeches" in the original Arthur Conan Doyle set of stories. I really like how she updates all of the old tropes and puts a new and original spin on them. And her character voices and descriptions are both excellent. There are no spoilers for season 2 in this story; it is so far a standalone. And totally worth reading.
(Okay, back to my last bit of future work stuff on the Dissertation-o-Doom now...)
