Still a month to go...
Mar. 29th, 2011 08:47 amAh, I cannot afford to be obsessing over the new series of Who just yet! There is still a month to go, and I have to get stuff done between now and then. Last night though I indulged in a bit of a series 5 marathon. Actually it was a bit of a continuation from last week too; last week I watched The Eleventh Hour, Amy's Choice and the Silurian trilogy (well, skimmed the first part and went straight to the second part anyway--and it was better than I remembered so yay!). Last night I watched The Lodger, The Pandorica Opens and the Big Bang, the Christmas special and then went back and watched Time of Angels but had to go to bed before rewatching Flesh and Stone.
Spoilery speculation below:
Man, I forgot how totally awesome the series finale was... especially the first part; aaaaaaa! and we get to find out next series what the Silence is and who River Song is and what with the spoilers going around about Gaiman's ep and some other strange things I've been hearing... aaaaaa it should be a doozy. I went back and checked up on the season six teasers that were released back in September and while some have been crossed off (or partially), most are still mysterious and intriguing.
Oh! And in Time of Angels when River is paging through her diary she says "Have we done the bone meadows yet?" and then the last spoiler is "the bones of the TARDIS" so I'm guessing that may be the series finale. Ack, only Moffat would dream up a name like "the bone meadows", that and "the shuddering brethren" are creeptastic.
I wonder also if the line "There won't be a pub quiz on Tuesday because there won't be a pub!" has to do with Craig coming back and the Doctor working in a shop.
Also, guys, I am rather worried for one of the girls this upcoming season... but not River or Amy; no I think they will be okay. No, it's the TARDIS. I have this horrible feeling that something awful is going to happen to her. Okay, okay, yes, she did blow up in the last series finale but she got better. But, but... oh I don't know, it's just a sense of foreboding. We still only know half of the story from the series 5 finale.
Right, going to go do some work now.
Oh, and I forgot to mention I listened to a few more Short Trips stories yesterday too. I listened to the end of "A True Gentleman", and to "The Death Dealers" and "The Deep" and most (I think) of Colin Baker's story "A Butterfly's Wings." The Death Dealers was short but actually really descriptive and well-characterized, and I liked it quite a bit. I LOVED "The Deep"; it started out kind of so-so but as soon as it got going it was a really, really cool tale. I love the idea of the TARDIS chameleon circuit messing up so that both outside AND inside change, loved the desolation and primality of it; it was just really cool, and I suppose I forgive Big Finish for not picking my Five and Turlough story in favor of a story where the TARDIS turns into a whale. As mentioned I have also listened to a bit of Colin Baker's story which so far is pretty fun; of course he knows how Six would react to things pretty well, though I'm kind of sad that there aren't any companions in the tale.
Right did I say, back to work?
