My friend pecosy posted this in my LJ when I asked for Halloween food suggestions. I've not tried it, but she has huge halloween parties each year and I definitely trust her suggestions. She doesn't cook them in the slow cooker, but it seems like they're fairly low-attention, which I assume is your goal.
Anyhow: "Another party food I've used for Halloween is meatballs (or are they eyeballs? Soooo spooooky). These are always a huge hit.
Get a bag of frozen party meatballs (Trader Joe's are tasty). In a large glass baking dish mix up a can of cranberry sauce, a jar of Heinz chili sauce and a jar of sauerkraut. Add the frozen meatballs and stir to coat. Cover and bake at 350 for about 30 minutes or so until the meatballs are heated through. (I test one and then for another 10 minutes if needed).
I keep them in a crock pot so they stay warm during the party."
