Oh I am quite against declawing cats too. She says he still catches mice and squirrels and stuff and can climb trees (he does have his back claws), but she also got him declawed because it was the only way her husband would let him be an inside cat for the winter (orange cat seems to have been the child of strays and gradually adopted over time). So I feel doubly bad becuase he can probably remember having claws and is mystified to why they no longer work. Not to mention it's like taking a person and cutting off the tips of their fingers at tje first knuckle :(
