eve11 | Two tiny fics (Reply)

amy_wolf has a poll up on ficwriting, including requests for flashfic! So, after a false start whereby I accidentally hit "enter" way too early, I resorted to a different lj name (not a sockpuppet I swear, there is content on it from a while back, research-related), and filled out two fics. The request was for one fic in your favorite style, and one outside your favorite style. A difficult task in the allotted space, but I gave it a shot. I maxed out the character space on both of these:

fic 1 (41 words): "Well?" The Doctor grinned, and Donna relaxed under the suns. The ocean smelled of lilac. "Nice beach. Could do without the spider people." He frowned, and she blustered. "I'm not anti-alien! But my drink's garnished with a beetle on a toothpick!"

fic 2 (47 words): It took seven days to escape Rellag and they'd been separated for the entirety. In the medbay the Doctor didn't miss the fear in Peri's eyes when he tried to be tender, or her relief when he fell back to the distant safety of bickering and theatrics.
