There was a Second Doctor episode too, I think (the not getting hit by the firing squad 'cliff-hanger' was nicked straight from The War Games).
I have yet to properly curate my thoughts on Heaven Sent (which was possibly the most amazing episode of Who I've ever seen), and this episode which was... definitely not the most amazing, but still very entertaining despite some serious faults. It was a Gallifrey episode, and thus ridiculous, and it was full of fan theories and continuity ref.s and I have no idea what a casual fan would make of it, but I was amused.
Especially by the dinner!TARDIS at the end.
And the dialogue which you've high-lighted was all very good and very well acted. And yes! Bring on the Christmas Special already!
(Thought on the dialogue you've highlighted... he stole the President's Daughter... is that a Susan reference? Does that make the President the Doctor's son? Am I reading too much into things?)
(though... I spent most of the episode expecting Clara to somehow turn into Susan and for the Doctor's life to reboot.)

(and now I will stop this rambly comment)
