Doctor Who Audios-- BBC7: Max Warp

Oh, I liked this one a lot. Best outing for Eight and Lucie yet :) A murder mystery with a great guest cast and a parody of "Car Talk" meets Howard Stern. I suppose "Top Gear" is a Brit show I'm not familiar with, but I think I got the gist. Very fun! And, oh my, I loved the last conversation between the Doctor and Lucie so, so much, that I have to repeat it here. You're missing out on the spot-on comedic timing in print, with the Doctor so earnest about his ship, and Lucie teasing him so relentlessly and eeee, this last bit just made me love this TARDIS team like you wouldn't believe!


"You know for all these spaceships being all sleek and powerful, and having hyperion boosters and whatnot, I think I prefer the TARDIS."

"Really?"

"I mean, it can go anywhere in time and space, that's gotta count for something."

"True."

"And it's bigger on the inside, which is handy if you've got loads of stuff and you need somewhere to put it."

"Absolutely, very good point!"

"But you know what I like most about it?"

"No, go on."

"It's a really nice shade of blue."

"Get in."

"What'd you say it stood for again? Time and Relative Dimensions..."

"Yeees--"

"Time and Relative Dimensions... in Shed."

"Th-- that is not what it stands for--"

"Yes it does. It's a shed."

The extras were fun too. I like how they were trying to pick a really obscure accent for Katerina to do, and the one producer (I think) was like, "Oh, her mum's from up there! That's an easy one for her to do!" lol. Britain must have much more variety in regional accents than the US; I guess people also pay more attention over there because of class issues too.

ha! Yeah, and I like how they repeated it with the Sponge-bob ambassador too! :)

I will have to check out Top Gear-- seems like something D might like too :)
