I especially put the warning there at the end for you b/c I know you don't watch trailers. I thought some folks may have died on the ship but--the Doctor does tell Amy and Rory to get all the people out while he's squaring off against Darth Vader the Shakri. So I count those persons as survivors.

No idea about the weird-mouthed dudes or the creepy girl. I think they are just... there. I think in the script meeting for this ep they said, "Hm, we like this, Chris, but we've only got 40 minutes. So we can make either the plot OR the character arc make sense."
