That's a cool take on it, too :) I was also trying to figure out what would fracture the trust the team had in each other. As a team there's no doubt they would make it, because each one makes the other one stronger, but separate them, hurt them a lot, and then they re-align. Motives, loyalties, trust. And then when they are truly given a chance to make things work, they let it slip away.
