Spoilers for S1 of A Series of Unfortunate Events:
I really enjoyed that a lot. My cousin described it as "if Wes Anderson and Tim Burton had a love child", which is pretty accurate. I have not read the books and know nothing about anything, so no spoilers please!
I really love the kids, and the weird fractured fairy tale feel of the story (and the anachronisms and general strangeness). NPH is hilarious and menacing at the same time. And all the good adult characters get killed and the annoyingly thick Mr Poe (who is dying of lung cancer?) is left. Anyhow it's an interesting mystery among the misery. And though I knew something was brewing, the bait and switch of Mother and Father at the end was absolutely heart wrenching. Also because they were fucking awesome (Will Arnett! So much love!) and then they got killed. Seriously, in retrospect it makes Lemony Snicket's talk about the denial of losing loved ones that much more painful because what you thought was dramatic irony was actually a cruel trick played on you the watcher instead. I should have believed the narrator and I stupidly didn't.
Looking forward to season 2.
